Many people want to make money blogging using a “set-it-and-forget-it” methodology. I call that “passive residual income”–income that continues 24/7/365 even when you pay no attention to the site.

For example, one of the sites I have for sale right now will earn about $2,000.00 over the next year just from affiliate links without anyone lifting a finger to make it happen. That’s passive, residual income. (If you don’t yet have any sites doing this, buy it now.)

It takes about 10 hours to set up a site, put up content and get it good position with Google–do one a week and in a year you can have a passive, residual income over $100,000.00.

How can you increase your residual income? Here are some simple steps:

  1. Choose a Reachable Market Niche
  2. Use the tutorial here to choose keyword phrases you can score highly for on Google:

  3. Buy a Keyword Rich Domain Name
  4. Use a keyword phrase that targets your very best keyword phrase.

  5. Use an SEO Friendly Theme
  6. I recommend using Mark Mason’s Niche Themes. SEO friendly themes allow you to quickly wrap your content in a theme that Google will love.

  7. Place Affiliate Links in “Hot Zones” On Your Site
  8. Study after study has demonstrated certain hot zones on your pages–places where your visitors automatically look. Place tempting, text based affiliate links in the upper left portion of your pages and you will see not only higher click throughs to affiliate sales pages, you will see more of those turn into sales.

  9. Get High Page Rank, Keyword Text Sensitive Incoming Links to the Page You Want to Score Highly
  10. This one is a whole book in itself. There are lots of tutorials out there on how to get it done.

Put these five tips to work and you will start seeing those checks rolling in. Try it, it will make you money.
