…way back at South Vigo High School, they showed the old black and white 3-D version of “Creature from the Black Lagoon” in the auditorium.
My cute redhead and I paid our buck, laughed at how each other looked in our fly-like red/blue tinted cardboard glasses and prepared for the awesome event. Despite the cheesy special effects (or lack of special effects as it were…) it was pretty cool.
And it also had the desired effect: It terrified my date and made her hold on to me that much tighter. Yeah, I was a player back in the day.
3-D is awesome.
But a 3-D business is also awesome. So that’s today’s question: Is your business one-dimensional, two-dimensional or full, stereo-vision 3D?
I started out with a one dimensional business, made a mint with a two dimensional business and am now on my way to making a killing with a three dimensional business. You need to be there too.
The one dimensional business has only one product. When someone buys the product you make money. When no one buys the product you don’t make money. This is where most people start out.
The two dimensional business understands the value of repeat, high dollar customers. So in a two dimensional business once you get a customer you follow-up with them again and again to offer more products and services at either higher price points or recurring billing or both. This greatly multiplies your profits as existing customers are likely to buy again and again.
In the three dimensional business you add a third crucial factor. In a one dimensional business you make one sale per customer. In the two dimensional business you make multiple sales per customer. In a three dimensional business you go one step further: Not only are you making multiple sales per customer, you have clearly defined systems in place that allow your business to run completely on autopilot–without you having to lift a finger to generate traffic, deliver products, answer custom service emails or create content.
The major difference between a 2-D and 3-D business is this: You can only run one 2-D business since it will require your individual oversight and input; You can run an UNLIMITED number of 3-D businesses.
It’s the difference between making $100,000.00 per year and $1 million. It’s that powerful.
So as you progress in your business make it your goal to move from a 1-D to a 2-D to a 3-D business. Try it, it will make you money.

1Good stuff Aaron and it’s so true. If you don’t move from 1D to 3D+ your business will never grow into what it could be. Nice illustration buddy

2Hey Joe,
I’ll be writing more on this–today I am putting together a graphic to represent a 3-D business that will be very helpful to people who want to see how to go from the beginning stages up to a huge business.
