Marketing Babe Cheryl,

You asked:

How do you cold call someone by email without spamming.

If by "cold calling" you mean asking them to sign up for your newsletter or buy a product, you can't.

But if you are contacting them about something reasonable--like a joint venture offer--look to see if they have an email address or contact form on their site. If they do, contact them.

Mark,

It's easier to do puzzles if you start out with the edge pieces. You can easily identify those because they have one side that is straight. Hope that helps.

I love the way you include in the copy that they get a "complementary membership". That really helps me solve a puzzle I've been trying to figure out.

Aaron,
How do you cold call someone by email without spamming. I use aweber and with their scripts, the potential client may not have asked for whatever information I am giving them and don't opt in. Is there way of introducing yourself and then the person can decide if they want to opt in?

once again something I didn't realize. I do like the seperate, "specialized" lists, but having them be part of the main list is great too. Also, being able to broadcast to multiple lists without duplicates is very nice.

I still don't have a full grasp on all the Aweber features, I need to spend some time exploring them and looking through their training material.

Technically you don't have to set up a separate newsletter list at AWeber any more--you can now mail to multiple lists without duplication, so you could do a broadcast to each of your lists.

So far I like using a newsletter list, but maybe I'm just old fashioned and not into all this newfangled stuff you kids are doing these days.
