[NOTE: This week I am hard at work preparing my new membership site for the June 27th Launch. Here is a “quick read” you can put to work right away…]
After saying in both a class and a post that you need about 20 landing pages (eventually) to add people to your list, I have had a number of people comment and/or email me about what that means. Here’s a quit explanation…
Your first offer is a free download of killer ab exercises. Those people who are interested in ab exercises join your list to get the free ad exercises. But that’s not all of your potential market. Some people already have great abs and are looking for build their arms.
So the next week you create a download of killer arm exercises. The next week you create a download for quads or lats. Over time (a year or so) you develop about 20 ways for people in your market niche to enter your list.
I have a general incentive “How to Retire on 200 Visitors a Day” everyone who joins my general list receives. But a month or two ago I noticed there was a discussion over at AWeber about getting people to confirm their email subscription. Because AWeber’s blog has lots of readers and I use a unique way of increasing confirms, I not only commented on the post, I put up a little 9 page eBook as a download explaining how I get more opt-ins to confirm.
I set it up as a separate “list” at AWeber (called submagic@aweber.com) as well as putting up a little subscribe form here:
http://www.FullTiltBlogging.com/submagic
Then I mentioned on the AWeber blog I had created a little eBook giving away my subscribe codes.
Get the complete details (including website codes) for the Magic Subscriber Box used on my FullTiltBlogging.com site. This is the magic box that captures the email address of over 15% of my unique visitors with over 90% confirming their email address.
Just fill in the blanks below to get the instant details.
You will also receive a complementary membership in FullTiltBlogging.com where you can get tips and tricks to help you enjoy and even make money blogging. You can unsubscribe with the click of a mouse, but you won’t want to!
Put it to work in your own business. It will make you money.

1crap man! So simple yet so important. I thought about setting up separate lists for each landing page, but I did NOT include them in the main lists..
I need that book and i’m looking forward to more aweber ninja training from you!

2Technically you don’t have to set up a separate newsletter list at AWeber any more–you can now mail to multiple lists without duplication, so you could do a broadcast to each of your lists.
So far I like using a newsletter list, but maybe I’m just old fashioned and not into all this newfangled stuff you kids are doing these days.

3once again something I didn’t realize. I do like the seperate, “specialized” lists, but having them be part of the main list is great too. Also, being able to broadcast to multiple lists without duplicates is very nice.
I still don’t have a full grasp on all the Aweber features, I need to spend some time exploring them and looking through their training material.

4Aaron,
How do you cold call someone by email without spamming. I use aweber and with their scripts, the potential client may not have asked for whatever information I am giving them and don’t opt in. Is there way of introducing yourself and then the person can decide if they want to opt in?

5I love the way you include in the copy that they get a “complementary membership”. That really helps me solve a puzzle I’ve been trying to figure out.

6Marketing Babe Cheryl,
You asked:
If by “cold calling” you mean asking them to sign up for your newsletter or buy a product, you can’t.
But if you are contacting them about something reasonable–like a joint venture offer–look to see if they have an email address or contact form on their site. If they do, contact them.
Mark,
It’s easier to do puzzles if you start out with the edge pieces. You can easily identify those because they have one side that is straight. Hope that helps.
