JK,

"Knowing" in your heart you are going to succeed is key to staying motivated. That's cool.

Marketing Babe Lori,

I think you just wrote one of the most perceptive things I have ever read:
I agree, it may be simple but it is not easy. I suppose if it were easy, everyone would be doing it. It’s as simple as losing weight. All you have to do is 3 things - 1) eat right, 2) exercise and 3) do it over and over again consistently. 1 and 2 are simple, it’s step 3 that keeps most of America overweight. Well, I’ve lost weight and I’m also determined to make my online ventures work or “die trying”.
It is a perfect illustration. The steps are clear. The steps are simple. The emotional barriers (as well as growth barriers) are much harder to complete.

Though sometimes I have been surprised at some of the "newbies" who are able to quickly make a huge amount of money. But they are the exception rather than the rule.

When I read your post, I almost cried. It's so nice to know that you understand and have been there. It's nice to be reminded that there are others just like me that are struggling, right now. And it's nice to know that there is hope and that I won't struggle forever.

Being bombarded with all the marketing guru's information can be emotionally devastating from the standpoint that they all say - that it's really easy, all I have to do is these 3 easy steps (one of which include some form of payment to them) and then I, too will be making $10K+ per month. They make it sound so easy.

Thanks for the encouraging words. It's nice to know I am not alone.

Yeah, I agree, thanks for putting it out there! I don't know....I think, at first a few people around me were skeptical.....but, once they hear me talk, and see that I am determined, they just kinda tell me to go for it.

People around me know that if I go after something, I'm going to get it! I even have one of the programmers at my job catch the MMO bug! lol.

I want nothing more than to work for myself, always have wanted to, and know for the first time I can actually see it in the distance. I keep running into and surrounding myself with great people who are wiling to help, and I am understanding the things I need to understand.

I tell people, it's not easy, it takes work....but, hard work in the beginning can pay off in passive income, then it's on to setup the next income stream. That's what I love about this stuff, you get something set in place, then it's like a machine working for you while you go work on some other ones. If you make sure to give each one the proper TLC you can build quite a few!

Thanks for the motivation

Thanks Shane,

I'm glad you haven't had anything but support from your friends, that's somewhat unusual. But I'm glad for you.

Aaron you couldnt have said it better, Ive been blogging, more of a personal thing since oh the late 90's. But it wasnt really until about 2006 that I decided to make the jump into doing it to make money. AND man o man it wasnt easy. I have had some sacrifices along the way, I'm not making a killing mind you but it pays bills and keeps money in my pocket. Obviously the goal is to kiss the 9-5 good bye. And know what, I cant believe that more people arent interested in supplementing their income, in any number of ways.
I mean I understand the job security thing, being comfortable. Hell Im well paid for a plumber, have a wicked benefits package, RRSP's,pension and all that.
But seriously being an employee, I AM MAKING SOME ONE ELSE RICH.
So what does that tell you being an employee is just a bad business model all around.
An ways I am no-one to judge everyone has their own thing in life and all the power to them.
I dont get defensive when I talk about my goals and get chided, actually my friends dont chide me, theyre very supportive.
It's just impoortant to be interanlly motivated as opposed to externally motivated. Ive seen people quit things because their peer group didnt agree, its just crazy really , BUT thats the way some people are.
