Last week I had lunch with an internet millionaire and I’m about to tell you the single most important tip he gave me to share with you. (In just a minute I’ll reveal his identity–but you haven’t heard of him–he’s just a regular guy.)
[Stop whatever you are doing right now and take 3 minutes to read this. It will not only make you money, it will change your life.]
Here is a paragraph from the “Thank You” I got from him yesterday:
Hey man! I can’t tell you what it meant to me for you to take the time to drive up to meet me. So many times over the last 6 years I’ve wanted to drive down just to shake your hand and thank you for your help with getting me started in what has turned out to be an incredible career….but the truth is you came at a time when I really needed some guidance and I’ll never forget your generosity and the true impact it’s had on my life (and ultimately the life of my entire family).
From the bottom of my heart…thank you.
I share that with you for a couple reasons.
First, it is an amazing feeling to have such a positive impact on someone’s life. After my marriage and the birth of my sons, the most rewarding experiences I’ve had in my life are watching other people succeed and change their lives with my help. If you’ve never been a part of something like that you can’t yet imagine the no-hangover high helping others will give you.
Second, I wanted to remind you of a very important truth:
You already know starting and running your internet business can be frustrating. At times you’ve probably felt you were spending too much time and too much money “spinning your wheels”.
Jeff (that’s his first name) was just like you.
He was working at a full-time job, where he made a good living, but was constantly stressed by office politics. He had tried a few times to get different web ideas up and running, but still hadn’t made any money.
And his wife–who is a wonderful lady–was losing her patience. Just like you, Jeff had to constantly convince her his internet dream was their ticket to success. Sometimes Jeff was trying to reassure her despite his own nagging doubts.
I’ll bet you’ve been there too.
Today neither Jeff nor his wife has any doubts. In fact, both have quit their jobs and get to spend their days doing “Sponge Bob Square Pants” marathons with their kids. No more commute. No more “9 to 5″ (or “7 to 7″ as if often ends up.)
They spend their summers on the beach in Cancun. They are a part of that exclusive club of people who have the time and money to truly enjoy life. They rub elbows with amazing people. (Including Barack Obama and Brittney Spears.)
Jeff’s success did not come over night–and it almost didn’t come at all.
Early on one day I was talking to Jeff on the phone. His product was ready to launch, all he needed was a piece of software to run his site. It was going to set him back $600.00.
Understand something important: At this point Jeff hadn’t made a dime. He wasn’t already successful. He hadn’t sold anything online before.
Does that sound a little like you?
So I am talking to him on the phone and saying, “Yes, you need to buy this software.”
Jeff was not convinced. He had spent too much money and not made any return. His wife was, understandably, impatient and he couldn’t imagine how he was going to tell her he needed “another” $600 smackers.
I, on the other hand, was very convinced. I had seen Jeff’s product–even used it. I knew he had put together a great sales process that would draw customers like moths to a flame.
I argued with him–literally argued–until he promised he would take the plunge.
That day was a turning point for Jeff.
There are two reasons why Jeff has succeeded and both of them were in play that day.
First, Jeff began to believe what I was telling him was true–that he would someday, somehow succeed online. His faith in this was small, but it only had to be big enough to get him to take the next step.
Second, Jeff took action.
Several years ago I was hired to write the sales copy for a weight loss website. One of the key ideas for the copy was this:
“You can start losing weight within five minutes of downloading this program”
Think about it: The day you begin losing weight is the day you begin a weight loss program. The same holds true for your online success: The first day you take action is the day your success begins.
Some steps take tons of faith in your eventual success, some take very little. You only need enough faith to take the next step.
Today you need to take two baby-steps to jump-start your success.
First, you need to sign up for my “Learn While You Earn” mentoring program. It’s completely and totally free. It’s an opportunity you’d be a fool to pass up.
Second, you need to tell some other people about the mentoring program. Will it make you any money? No, but someday someone might just send you a letter like the one Jeff sent me–you might just change their lives.
What are you waiting for? Fill out the blanks below to get started:

1Most of us have heard the saying “You have to spend money to make money” and although there are many things we can waste our money on in business, there are also things that really enhance our chances of success. Yes there are free or cheep alternatives to some things but often the paid product is much better.
In my Graphic design business the software and equipment does not come cheap BUT without it I could not do what I do nearly as good. Some things are just worth the investment and not listening to people who have already proved their success is business suicide!
I have spend years teaching art and one of my biggest frustrations was students scrimping on good art materials and necessary equipment. I knew this meant the difference between progressing better and faster. I mean ‘would a house painter paint a house with a mop?’ so why use inferior tools in your business or craft if it means the difference between good and GREAT?
I 100% agree with you Aaron in saying that the right tools for promoting your business is a must. I guess that is the difference between successful business and a mediocre one.

2Aaron — I just wanted to chime in and say how much I am enjoying (and learning) from your Mentoring Program. I cannot tell you how many times I have considered paying HUNDREDS of dollars for what you are giving away for free.
Please invite people who have questions about the program to contact me directly through the contact page on my blog. I’d be happy to share my experiences with them.
My advice to people is to simply take action..
By the way, I know I have told you personally several times, but here it is again.
Thanks!
Best regards,
Mark

3Kayleen,
Thanks for the comment.
Lots of people are scared to spend money on their business not only because they don’t believe in their success, but they wonder if the thing they are spending money on is really what they need. Hopefully, they will do what you did and join the mentoring program so they can learn exactly what it is they need to have to succeed.
Mark,
Thanks. I appreciate your encouragement.
Your check is in the mail.

4I know you are joking about the check — but it is really in the mail. My potential for making real money online has increased by a factor of 10 just since you started teaching me about lead blogging. And that is just one topic.
Anyway, the offer to talk to potential students stands.
Regards,
Mark
