Many bloggers and website owners don’t put a lot of thought into the process of collecting a lead. They simply sign up with a list management company, put up a form and hope some of their visitors sign up. After a while many of them add some kind of “gift” for subscribing, but still don’t pay much attention to the process of grabbing leads.

You are about to discover the process behind leadblogging and you will immediately see how leadblogging is going to make you exponentially more money from exactly the same amount of traffic.

Begin leadblogging with the End in Mind

When you write a post for your blog it needs to have a goal in mind. For many bloggers they think only in terms of their post “educating”, “entertaining” or possibly “getting good search position.”

But you are going to do one better. You are going to write most of your posts with a single goal: Generating Leads.

Before you begin writing a post consider how that post can generate leads. Do you have a download with related content you can tie to the post? Is this high value information you can password protect and limit only to your subscribers? Is this a post where you can create a printable form for the end users to download? Can you use this post to encourage your readers to participate in an online class or teleseminar? Do you have a podcast they can download?

Before you write, decide to give your readers at least one reason to sign up for your list.

For my FullTiltMarriage.com site I created two “general purpose” reports I can use over and over again in posts. One tells men how to seduce your wife tonight and the other tells women how to get the husband of their dreams.

(Oh, and by the way guys and gals, those reports work. You need to get them. Guys you won’t believe how easy it is to seduce your wife and ladies, you won’t believe how easy it is to “train” your guy to meet your emotional needs–you’ll both be amazed at the secrets you will discover that have been under your nose all the time!)

Create Compelling Emotional Reasons for Your Readers to Subscribe

Not everything you write will be a masterpiece. That’s just a fact of life. But try to give your readers a compelling reason to WANT to be on your list. Here are some ideas:

Mention something interesting, informative or humorous you told your subscribers about without revealing the details. In their minds it is often like telling a joke then saying “click here for the punchline” or telling the story of a murder mystery then saying “click here to find out who the killer is.” The tension created will cause them to subscribe to get the answer.

Offer something so compelling they just have to grab it. Like above when you went over to download the reports at FullTiltMarriage.com–a night of wedded bliss or a supportive, loving husband is tough to resist.

Create an emotion then offer them immediate gratification. Start a sentence with “imagine being able to…” or something similar, then offer a tool to do just that. Create a fear and then give them protection from that fear with your immediate download.

Put these tips to work and you will not only have more leads, you’ll make more money.
