Out of frustration, I just sent this email to my list:
Aaron Abber from FullTiltBlogging.com here…
I don’t know how to write an email to you that will be
convincing. The problem is you get emails every day from people who
want to sell you something. Heck, sometimes those emails
are from me.But this isn’t one of those. I want to give you something.
That’s the problem…those other emails all sound like they
want to give you something until you get to the site and
find you have to buy something first. And I don’t blame you for being more than a little cynical.
But I really want to give you something–and you can get it
if you go here now:

If for some reason you decide to decline my gift, please
let me know why. Just make a comment on the post.Because I am having trouble seeing how anyone who isn’t
already making huge cabbage online would pass this up.But maybe I’m missing something.
Please let me know what you think.

Aaron,
When you are honest and not sensational lots of people don’t believe you.
The hype and celebrity style , $150,000 checks and Ferrari cars packed outside mansions sales letters tend to convince us that these are the trully successful business people.
I am tired of 10 page landing pages full of personal gloating and vanity!
So it is refreshing to be with a true master.
Your reputation will proceed you Aaron so by next week you will be house full.
If you read a sales page and find it a turn off then it means either you weren’t a prospect in the first place, or it is poor copy. Over the next several weeks you’ll see how to write copy that draws people in rather than alienates them.
Aaron,
I just subscribed and look forward to your emails.
I agree with Mariane on this one. I would love to have a nickel for every email that has something free for me. A lot of webmasters just don’t get it.
If you offer me something free, it better be or you’ll lose me.
I’ll be watching.
Paul
Paul,
Thanks for signing up. I took a look at your site–pretty interesting.
And, yes, when I tell you something is free, it’s free.
But I don’t want to mislead you–I am in business to make a profit. Anyone who tells you different is lying. I will offer you seductively packaged products over time that I hope you will buy.
Anyone who apologizes for making a profit is a fool, right?
