Tuesday I announced my goal to generate 300+ new RSS subscribers and 300+ double opt-in email subscribers in 21 days. Now I’m going to let you in on a secret:
At least, if they’re average. I had one promotion where I received 374 new subscribers in a weekend, and those 374 people earned me over $36,000.00. (It was a VERY effective promotion.)
Let me explain:
I’ve built and profited from RSS and Email subscribers for years. Every time you add subscribers some will, over time, unsubscribe. Some will stop reading. Some will read your messages. But eventually some will buy a product or service you recommend.
And when they buy, you make money. On the subscriber lists I own I average a little over $23 in gross sales per new subscriber the first year. That’s the average based on new subscribers and includes all those who unsubscribe or ignore me, not just those who stick around.
So when I grab those 600 new email and RSS subscribers over the next few weeks it’s easy for me to do the math:
If I’m selling affiliate products–where I make about 50% commission–I end up with a profit of $11 or $12 per year per new subscriber. When I sell my own products (which I obviously prefer!) I make $23 or so.
And you can do the same by imitating my simple procedure.
Now that I’ve whet your appetite, I’ll tell you exactly how you can imitate me and do the same with your own subscribers. It’s a simple process you want to repeat every four weeks.
